About Team Charles

A few days shy of his second birthday, Charles was diagnosed with Coffin-Siris Syndrome due to a de novo mutation of the ARID1B-RD gene. At the time he was the 824th person in the world to receive this diagnosis. At the moment there are no treatments to speak of, but last year a group of like-minded parents set up FAR - the Foundation for ARID1B Research - (www.arid1b.org) with a mission to do everything we can to accelerate the development of life-changing treatments for ARID1B-RD. We now have work underway on two potential life changing ARID1B-RD treatments. We also have an extraordinary international Scientific Advisory Board as well as hundreds of other families in our new community and lot of future plans to change the course of treatment for those impacted by this syndrome.
